About @me_baked


I'm Senga  owner, baker, and cake designer of @me_baked.

@me_baked started out as a diary of my journey as a home baker. I was struggling to find the cake I wanted for my daughter and after not having baked for at least 30 years I needed to put in some practice. 

In April 2021 was the start of @me_baked as a business. I have a level 2 certificate in Food Safety & Hygiene and I also registered with my local authority.

I am based in Prestonpans East Lothian, Scotland which means I'm pretty well located for central  Scotland &Scottish borders. For wedding cakes I will deliver to most of Scotland as well as North East England.

I believe that your wedding cake or celebration cake should be an edible work of art and statement of your style and personality. I use modern decorating techniques such as: texturing, pattering, flowers (dried or fresh), edible mediums and wire art to deliver cakes that wow in both taste and style to my customers.


For your wedding cake I now cover in ganache (mixture of chocolate and cream) which will give added stability to your cake as well as a luxurious taste) or fondant. Buttercream filling as standard, I use Swiss meringue buttercream, which is made from a base of Swiss meringue to give a soft mallow texture that's less sweet than American buttercream. If you prefer American buttercream please say so upon enquiring. 

Birthday Cakes & celebration cakes can be covered in either ganache or swiss meringue buttercream, this is your choice - I would still advise ganache.

I try to be as environmentally friendly as possible and only use composable or recyclable packaging for my cakes, so please make ensure you dispose of the packaging responsibly. Any dried florals/hoops & Wire art can be kept to make your own display. Most acrylic or card cake toppers are also recyclable.
